Movado Pilot Watch Breguet Numerals

A Movado Oversize with a case measuring a remarkable 38.5mm is already an unusual timepiece, but finding one with a black enamel dial featuring Breguet numerals and central seconds is practically impossible. This watch is a unique rarity, very likely produced in only a handful of examples and used by aviation pioneers in the 1920s or 1930s. In person, it is truly spectacular—I have never seen another like it. The overall condition is consistent with a nearly 100-year-old watch that has never been restored. The chrome-plated case shows significant signs of wear and loss of plating in several areas. While it would have been easy to replate the case to give it a less worn appearance, I decided to leave this Movado in the same condition as when I acquired it from a small French auction house. Naturally, the movement has been serviced by my watchmaker, as it required a full overhaul, but nothing else has been altered. The dial, in my opinion, is stunning, featuring black enamel with Breguet numerals (the inscriptions are not gilt but white enamel). There are a few light marks on the glossy surface, but nothing severe or distracting when the watch is on the wrist. The stainless steel case back closes perfectly. All components are correct and original: a chrome-plated case, a steel case back engraved with the reference and serial number, a black enamel dial, and a cal. 75 movement. The crown is period-correct but not the original one from the factory.
